A New Color Image Quantization Algorithm Based on Fuzzy Kernel Clustering

By MA Yu-jie

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.02.03, Pub. Date: 29 Aug. 2011

A new color image quantization algorithm based on fuzzy kernel clustering is studied in this paper. Firstly, the original image is quantized to 256 colors using the octree algorithm. Secondly, based on the quantitative relation of the NBS distance and the color difference of human vision, the initial clustering centers and number are determined automatically. Thirdly, the clustering center color values are modified by use of the fuzzy kernel clustering algorithm in the Munsell space. And then, a color image quantization effect is achieved. At last, simulations are performed on the presented algorithm, and the simulation result shows that the presented algorithm not only can solve the problem of giving the number of quantization in advance but also has better quantization effect than the octree algorithm and fuzzy c-means algorithm in the same quantization number.

By Fengying Xu Zhimin Liu Yongchun Xu

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.02.04, Pub. Date: 29 Aug. 2011

The fixed communication interruption easily occurs in extreme disaster situation, so it needs a robust mobile Ad hoc wireless communication to deliver the rescue information with high quality and efficiency. But the widespread excessive energy consumptions loaded in mobile Ad hoc wireless routing network have become the restriction bottleneck of its application. Based on the routing protocol of AODV, this paper proposed a routing algorithm of AODVSE energy-saving protocol, and studied its effects of the working performance on mobile Ad hoc wireless network. The simulation results showed that the AODVSE protocol could be better to improve the energy-saving performance than AODV and DSR protocols by reducing the routing expiration time and the routing load and extending the network lifetime, in order to help to implement the accurate and immediate rescue.

By Zeng Hui Zhou Jinhua

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.02.08, Pub. Date: 29 Aug. 2011

Landscape pattern in mining area is both the result of long-term action of multi driving forces and the base of regional coordination and development. This paper takes Liyuan Town, where Jinggezhuang locates, in Tangshan as an example and analyzes land use changes in the year 1997 and 2003 using GIS. The results showed that in mining area in urban-rural fringe of plain area, the number and the fragmentation of the patches increased and the patch density as the whole was in a rising trend. And the patch number of each type of landscape distributed unevenly. The landscape pattern characteristics and evolvement in Liyuan Town indicates that under the double functions of mining development and urbanization, it is necessary adequately to obey the evolvement regularity of special landscape in region to promote the evolvement of landscape destruction, restoration, reconstruction and function, in order to realize the regional coordination development.
