By Yixun Shi

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.01.01, Pub. Date: 29 Jul. 2011

In recent years, more and more attentions are given to developing problem solving skills and using computer technology in the teaching and learning of mathematics. Case studies, independent projects, and examples of applications of mathematics are used more and more frequently in mathematics classes in order to enhance students’ development in mathematical thinking and problem solving skills. Two examples of such studies are presented in this paper.

Research on Feature Selection Algorithm in Rough Set Based on Information Entropy

By Guijuan Song

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.01.02, Pub. Date: 29 Jul. 2011

Rough set theory is an effective approach to imprecision, vagueness, and incompleteness in classification analysis and knowledge discovery .Attribute reduction is a key problem for rough set theory. While computing reduction according to the definitions is a typical NP problem. In this paper, basic concept of rough set theory is presented, one heuristic algorithm for attribution reduction based on conditional entropy is proposed. The actual application shows that the method is feasible and effective.

Study on Extenics Information Fusion Method

By Li Zhong Wang Ailing Qi Furong

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.01.03, Pub. Date: 29 Jul. 2011

This paper makes analysis on theories of D-S evidential reasoning, rough sets and extenics sets, the three of which hold similarities in defining uncertainty sets. It’s feasible to introduce relevant theories and methods of extenics into information fusion and a method of extenics fusion (MEF) is presented as well. The method combines extenic correlation function with Dempster method and is considered to be a good solution in solving evidence collision and BPA function in information fusion method basing on D-S evidential reasoning. With the difference of transfer functions, the paper designs a method of extenics fusion. The simulation test results show that MEF is better than the traditional D-S evidential reasoning and is applicable to all kinds of evaluation problems.

Study on Algorithm of Digital Image Watermarking Based on DWT

By Gou xin-ke Lu ran-ni

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.01.04, Pub. Date: 29 Jul. 2011

In this article, watermarking algorithm is studied using digital watermarking technology based on the discrete wavelet (DWT) multi-resolution decomposition algorithm. Three-level wavelet decomposition is employed so that images are divided into three serial sub-graphs with high frequency band and one sub-graph with low frequency band. Since low-frequency information is more sensitive to human eyes than high-frequency information, watermarking is embedded into the high-frequency coefficients of the wavelet image. In our experiment, watermarking information is embedded into the original images by Matlab simulation. Besides, salt and pepper noise, Gaussian low-pass filter, amplifying 200% after narrowing 50% attack as well as JPEG coding are used to test the algorithm. Results show that our algorithm is robust and the visual effect is satisfactory.

Research and Practice on Media Assistive High Efficient Autonomous Learning Mode

By Liu Lei

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.01.07, Pub. Date: 29 Jul. 2011

Different from the traditional sense of self-study, this paper takes a new understanding of the definition and concept of autonomic learning. It brings forward the self-study mode called “target, design, implementation, and test”, and it raises the idea of establishing the platform of multimedia assistive autonomic learning so as to help the learners to fulfill a more efficient and motivating learning process. The case research is based on the intramural educating and learning website, and the evaluation is based on a comprehensive scoring system.

Food Safety Testing Technology Based on The Spectrophotometer and ARM

By Jianjun Ding Xihua Wang

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.01.08, Pub. Date: 29 Jul. 2011

This paper describes using spectrophotometer and ARM in food safety detection system. Using the spectrophotometer as sensors will convert lead concentration and organophosphate pesticides concentration into optical signals. Data will be analyzed by ARM. This system can also complete photoelectric conversion, A/D conversion functions and complete light signal processing effectively. The hardwares are low prices, cost-effective, stable work, and easy to operate. This testing technology provides a reliable method for food safety detection.

By Muqing Qiu Chengcai Huang

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.01.09, Pub. Date: 29 Jul. 2011

The course of the environmental monitoring experiment is one of the important course in environmental science specialty. And it is also a compositive and practical required course. At present, there are some questions in the practical teaching of this course. Based on these questions, the experimental teaching model of three phases are put forward. That is, the course of the environmental monitoring experiment is divided into three training phases and carried out the teaching models of three phases. It was proved that this teaching model would be fit to develop the teaching quality, strengthenthe operational ability, shorten the adaptive time at working.

Method of Uninitialized Variable Detecting for C++ Program

By Wan Lin Liu Juan Wang Qinzhao Zhang Wei

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.01.12, Pub. Date: 29 Jul. 2011

We present a testing approach which is a partially automated, partially manual inspection process that reports defects in C++ source code. In this paper we considered one of the faults type- uninitialized Variable- which the approach can detect. Uninitialized Variable is a common kind of error in programs written in C++, it often causes error result or system collapse. This paper analyses the classical C++ uninitialized variable errors, and describes a detecting method of uninitialized variable errors combining the advantage of ASI technology which based on static analysis.
