Incorporating SAP® ERP Training into Industrial College Education: A Usability Evaluation

By Abdelsalam Shanneb

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2020.05.01, Pub. Date: 8 Oct. 2020

The main vision of Jubail Industrial College (JIC) is to "To excel in providing technology education and training, applied research, and innovation to support sustainable economic and industrial development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia". To ensure the readiness of JIC students for successful careers, they need to be exposed to the latest software tools and technologies currently used in the surrounding industry. The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) course is part of many degree programs at JIC where the academic staff is utilizing the SAP® University Alliance Program (SAP® UA) to inject a practical component into the theoretical ERP course. This paper presents insights into the integration of SAP training in an ERP course by assessing the usability of the SAP® UA system. In particular, our goal is to evaluate the usability aspect of the SAP® UA system among future industrial and petroleum employees. Since, the SAP® UA system has been used in the college for ten years, and the available relevant literature in this region and under the same circumstances is very limited, we undertook this research to determine the acceptance of the SAP® UA system among JIC students. The System Usability Scale (SUS) was the tool of choice in our research and the final results obtained generated a SUS value of 67 which falls within the acceptance range.

The research entitled edu-game "Ulun Smart-Kid" is a research development of puzzle game type designed to hone memory in the form of language. In this game player must arrange letters in random and create a word in Banjar language. AI technology (artificial intelligence) will also be applied to this research. Using the finite state machine model method game that is built will have game agent character that will accompany a child to play like a teacher. The results of this study make this entitled educational become more interesting and interactive to children. Game agent in the form of teachers can give a sad and happy expression accordingly from the game environment. It accompanies child like a teacher.

A Critical Review by Teachers on the Online Teaching-Learning during the COVID-19

By Malik Mubasher Hassan Tabasum Mirza Mirza Waseem Hussain

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2020.05.03, Pub. Date: 8 Oct. 2020

The world has witnessed a sudden change in the teaching-learning processes due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19. The worldwide compulsive lockdown for ensuring the preventive measures to stop the spread of this infection has equally affected education sector as other business sectors. As all of us know that quality education is the only long-term rescue for all the challenges and therefore, the need to find out the alternative solution to the traditional classroom teaching-learning is the concern of all stakeholders and the only option found is online mode of teaching-learning, which was somehow already available and had attracted an intense attention during this period. The aim of the paper is to study the teacher’s perspective in India about this mode of learning, challenges and issues faced by them in migration to online platform, experience about online tools/platforms used for instructional delivery and their suggestions to improve the process for effective teaching. This study will help in gaining insight towards the possible improvements in the ongoing mode of online teaching and in future situations also. The results obtained based on sample collection through web based questionnaire clearly gives some information, which could be an eye opener for enhancing the implementation of the online teaching-learning among the learners especially teachers, who can further help in implementation of the large. Although, the online mode was already in place and was utilized in blended form to a substantial level in the developed countries, but in developing countries like India, where teachers are not familiar with online platforms/tools, lack of knowledge and skills to handle the online ICT infrastructure in a challenging situation. The results also give an impression about the need of professional development with special focus on digital literacy skills and awareness among the teacher community about the merits of online platforms for the teaching-learning process.

Experimental Comparison of Mutation Testing Tools for C Sharp Language

By Tariful Alam A. G. M. Zaman

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2020.05.04, Pub. Date: 8 Oct. 2020

Mutation testing is a popular software testing technique, that inject artificial faults into the program and requires test cases to reveal these faults. In this paper, an experimental comparison is analyzed for different types of mutation testing tools in C Sharp language in .NET framework. Different mutation testing tools are giving different mutation score for a program. The objective of this paper is to investigate why the mutation score is different for different tools, and the scope of generating mutants depending on different types of operators. Four tools, such as, Visual Mutator, Cream, Ninja Turtles, and Nester are selected and applied to a program and analyze the outcome. Among these four mutation testing tools, Visual Mutator is better because of its higher mutation score, and it generates mutants for both common and uncommon standard operators and object level operators.
