By Randa. Hammami Yossra. Hadj Kacem Senda. Souissi Hatem. Bellaaj Ahmed. Hadj Kacem

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijitcs.2017.02.02, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2017

Web services are considered as one of the best and most widespread solution for handling the interoperability problem and the challenge of integration. The proliferation of Web services over the Internet becomes more and more significant. They are henceforth playing an important role in several fields such as e-health, e-commerce and e-learning. Thus, one important question arises: how to manage Web services more efficiently? It is a key problem to the Web services based- applications at present especially that the need to enhance the Quality of Services (QoS) is constantly growing: the better the QoS are, the more the users are satisfied. This has spurred the study of scheduling algorithms for providing QoS guarantees.
In this paper we put the light on the Web services requests scheduling strategies on the server side. In fact, we present a brief overview and a comparative evaluation of three queuing scheduling disciplines for Web services, which are: First in First out (FIFO), Priority Queuing (PQ) and Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ). Then, we put forward a new scheduling strategy based on two well-known strategies namely: Priority Queuing and Weighted Fair Queuing. The experimental results highlight the merits and shortcomings of each scheduling discipline in addition to its performance in terms of: execution time, communication time and response time.

A Survey on Current Repertoire for 5G

By Muhammad Aamir Nadeem Muhammad Anwaar Saeed Imran Ali Khan

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijitcs.2017.02.03, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2017

Cellular technology progressed miraculously in the last decade. It has redefined communication paradigm. Statistics provided by Ericson and Cisco show the number of mobile connected devices will reach figures of 9.2 billion and 11.6 billion respectively by 2020. Overall connected devices will surpass 50 billion then. Extremely higher data rates, zero latency, massively scalable, connecting everything anywhere is what that 5G promises. To meet such ambitious goals which apparently seems challenging, the tools and technologies that mobile communication has in its repertoire and what it needs more either enhancement in existing solutions or new solution or joint venture of both, is a question that demands an answer. To realize 5G, evolution and revolution both approaches are being employed. Evolution seeks enhancements in existing technologies while revolution looks for new innovations and technologies. Extension in frequency spectrum, network densification, MIMO, carrier aggregation, Centralized-RAN, HetNets, and Network Functionality Virtualization are the key enablers. This paper disseminates information about ongoing research and development of 5G.

On the Selection of MAC Optimised Routing Protocol for VANET

By Kanu Priya Jyoteesh Malhotra

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijitcs.2017.02.04, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2017

In today's era of modernization, the concept of smart vehicles, smart cities and automated vehicles is trending day by day. VANET (Vehicular Adhoc Network) has also been emerging as a potential applicant to enable these smart applications. Though VANET is very much similar to MANET (Mobile Adhoc Network) but VANET has more severe challenges as compared to MANET due to hostile channel conditions and high degree of mobility. So lot of work related to MAC and Network Layer need attention from the network designers. In this paper MAC Layer has been optimised in terms of Queue Size by using QoS Parameters namely Packet Collision Rate, Packet Drop Rate, Throughput Rate and Broadcast Rate. In doing so, simulative investigations have been done to find out optimum queue size. For this purpose various routing protocols namely DSDV, AODV, ADV and GOD have been considered and optimum queue length for each of these have been obtained. Further the most efficient routing protocol has also been identified. Moreover this paper also compares the performance of most efficient Routing Protocols selected in terms of QoS parameters for different MAC Interfaces.

Novel Optimized Designs for QCA Serial Adders

By A. Mostafaee A. Rezaei

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijitcs.2017.02.05, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2017

Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is a new and efficient technology to implement logic Gates and digital circuits at the nanoscale range. In comparison with the conventional CMOS technology, QCA has many attractive features such as: low-power, extremely dense and high speed structures. Adders are the most important part of an arithmetic logic unit (ALU). In this paper, four optimized designs of QCA serial adders are presented. One of the proposed designs is optimized in terms of the number of cells, area and delay without any wire crossing methods. Also, two new designs of QCA serial adders and a QCA layout equivalent to the internal circuit of TM4006 IC are presented. QCADesigner software is used to simulate the proposed designs. Finally, the proposed QCA designs are compared with the previous QCA, CNTFET-based and CMOS technologies.

Advanced Prediction Based Mobility Support for 6LoWPAN Wireless Sensor Networks

By Riaz Ahmed Khan Ajaz Hussain Mir

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijitcs.2017.02.06, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2017

Wireless Sensor Nodes (SNs), the key elements for building Internet of Things (IOT) have been deployed widely in order to get and transmit information over the internet. IPv6 over low power personal area network (6LoWPAN) enabled their connectivity with IPV6 networks. 6LoWPAN has mobility and it can find an extensive application space only if provides mobility support efficiently. Existing mobility schemes are focused on reducing handoff (HO) latency and pay less attention towards packet loss and signaling cost. In time critical applications under IOT, packet loss and excessive signaling cost are not acceptable. This paper proposes a scheme based on advanced mobility prediction for reducing extra signaling cost and packet loss that incurs due to connection termination in traditional schemes such as Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) handover. In our proposed scheme 6LoWPAN WSN architecture with IPv6 addressing is presented. Based on this architecture the mobility algorithm is proposed for reducing signaling cost, packet loss by buffering mechanism and HO latency in particular. In the algorithm layer 2 (L2) and layer 3 (L3) HO is performed simultaneously with prior HO prediction with no Care of Address (CoA) configuration which also reduces signaling cost to some extent. The proposed scheme is analyzed theoretically and evaluated for different performance metrics. Data results showed significant improvements in reducing packet loss, signaling cost and HO latency when compared to standard PMIPv6 in time critical scenarios.

An Integrated CEA Approach for Color Light Source Estimation

By Harpreet Kaur Sandeep Sharma

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijitcs.2017.02.07, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2017

Color constancy is an element of human vision framework which guarantees that the apparent color of items under fluctuating light conditions generally remains constant. It is fundamentally used to eliminate the color cast in the picture. Color Cat is a quick and precise learning-based methodology for accomplishing computational color constancy. However, despite everything it confronts a few limitations like poor brightness due to normalization used. Furthermore it doesn't promise edge preservation. So to overcome these issues a CEA strategy has been proposed which is a hybrid model based on Color Cat, Edge preservation filter and Adaptive histogram Equalization. As Adaptive histogram Equalization is exceptionally valuable for contrast improvement and edges are protected by edge preservation filter. Experimental results show that the proposed CEA approach outperforms over existing techniques.

An analysis of the Intelligent Predictive String Search Algorithm: A Probabilistic Approach

By Dipendra Gurung Udit Kr. Chakraborty Pratikshya Sharma

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijitcs.2017.02.08, Pub. Date: 8 Feb. 2017

Due to the huge surge of digital information and the task of mining valuable information from huge amount of data, text processing tasks like string search has gained importance. Earlier techniques for text processing relied on following some predetermined sequence of steps or some hard coded rules. However, these techniques might soon prove to be inefficient as the amount of data generated by modern computer systems in increasing more and more. One solution to this problem lies in the development of intelligent algorithms that incorporate a certain degree of intelligence and unlike traditional algorithm are able to cope up with changing scenarios. This paper presents a string searching algorithm that incorporates a certain degree of intelligence to search for a string in a text. In the search of a string, the algorithm relies on a chance process and a certain probability at each step. An analysis of the algorithm based on the approach suggested by A. A. Markov is also presented in the paper. The expected number of average comparisons required for searching a string in a text is computed. Based on the varieties of applications that are coming up in the area of text processing and the related fields, this new algorithm aims to find its use.
