Using Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology Model to Predict Students’ Behavioral Intention to Adopt and Use E-Counseling in Ghana

The urge to progressively motivate e-counseling in schools is somewhat dependent on students’ behavioral intention towards the use of counseling technologies. This paper presents an empirical approach of using Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology model to ascertain students’ behavioral intention to adopt and use e-counseling in Ghana. Questionnaires were used to collect data from two hundred and fifty (N=250) randomly selected students from Ghana. Cronbach alpha (α) was first employed to validate and ascertain the reliability of the data. Subsequently, Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) was performed in analysing the data. After that, a follow-up interview was conducted to explore the variance in our findings from the collected data through the questionnaires. In the end, the reliability of the test items contained in the questionnaire yielded strongly at 87.6 %. Also, whereas the outcome of the research suggests Performance Expectancy (PE) (B = .511 , p= .000) and Social Influence (SI) (B = .165 p = .001) as the influencing constructs (factors) towards students’ behavioral intention to adopt and use e-counseling, Facilitation Condition (FC) (B= .014, p= .723) and Effort Expectancy (EE) (B= .086 p= .080) had no significant effect on the behavioral intention of students to adopt and use e-counseling in Ghana.

Research on Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation in Practice Teaching Assessment of Computer Majors

Practice teaching is an inseparable part of professional courses for computer majors, which helps to cultivate capability of coding and engineering for students. Progress assessment and result assessment are two common ways to assess the practice teaching. But only by class attendance and programming result, it is not scientific and reasonable for all students to get the final assessment result. And it is not scientific to evaluate teaching quality only by classroom observations or instructional supervision too. How to assess the practice teaching from multiple perspectives scientifically is key point of this paper. A new assessment called fuzzy comprehensive evaluation from different targets collecting from five assessment means is adopted to complete the task. Based on five targets of grade 1 and corresponding targets of grade 2, one fuzzy matrix is constructed with membership determining and one quantitative result is obtained based on calculation of fuzzy matrix. This assessment method breaks through the knowledge barrier and puts emphasis on competence assessment and teaching evaluation, which improves teaching quality in the teaching process. Adopting this assessment method, students’ learning effects can be assessed objectively and fairly, which will result in inspiring students’ passion for independent learning and helping them to build employment challenge self-confidence with optimistic and positive attitudes. And teachers will get effective feedback and professional suggestions from experts, students and management department to improve their practice teaching in the future.

Movement Abnormality Evaluation Model in the Partially Centralized VANETs for Prevention Against Sybil Attack

The VANETs carry many security concerns. One of the popular and dangerous attacks can be launched in the form of Sybil or Prankster attack, where an attacker inserts a fake position within in the cluster. The inserted fake node information can be utilized by the hackers in the case of selfish driver, traffic jams, selective collisions and other similar hazardous situations. To avoid such things the VANETs must be protected against such attacks. In this paper, a novel solution has been proposed to overcome the Sybil and prankster attacks on the VANETs. The new solution is capable of detecting the fake information injections by verifying the VANET node behaviour in the cluster. The behaviour of the node includes the direction, speed, pattern, etc. In case a node is found malicious, the whole cluster is reported against that node, and node is ordered to stop by the central control system. The proposed model has been developed using the random waypoint model. The random way point model is much closer to the real time VANETs. The random waypoint model has been compared against the reference point group model. The experimental results have shown the effectiveness of the proposed model.

A Novel 4×4 Universal Reversible Gate as a Cost Efficient Full Adder/Subtractor in Terms of Reversible and Quantum Metrics

This paper proposes a new 4×4 reversible logic gate which is named as MOG. Reversible gates are logical basic units, having equal number of input and output lines, which can reduce power dissipation in digital systems design through their reversibility feature; because there is a one-to-one corresponding between their input and outputs vectors. The most significant aspect of the MOG gate is that it is a universal gate and has the ability of calculating any logical function on its own. We have also proposed quantum representation of the MOG gate with optimal quantum cost equal to 11. Then, it has been proved that MOG gate can be used to produce a cost efficient reversible full adder/subtractor cell in terms of reversible and quantum metrics. The proposed reversible full adder/subtractor design using MOG gate is a completely optimized circuit in terms of the number of reversible gates, the number of constant inputs, and the number of garbage outputs because it can work with the minimum possible amounts of these reversible metrics. Additionally, it is more efficient than the existing counterparts in terms of quantum cost. The full adder/subtractor cell is an important circuit in VLSI and digital signal processing applications. A lot of works have been done toward designing reversible full adder/subtractors in the literature; but there is no an optimized design with quantum implementation. To prove the applicability of the proposed design in large processing scales, we have constructed 8-bits reversible ripple carry full adder/subtractor circuit using MOG gates. Results have shown the superiority of our proposed design compared with other 8-bits similar designs.

Engineering education plays a pivotal role in the development of technologies, society, nation, economy and employment. It is well evident that in the information age, technology is developing very fast and correspondingly the demand for highly skilled and qualified professionals is also increasing. One of the most critical issues in engineering education is handling placement of young technocrats from an industrial perspective to prepare the required workforce in the 21st century.
The trajectory of development of Electronics Engineering (EE) has intersected every walk of human life. The last decade has also witnessed an assorted increase in Electronics Engineering Education in India. Infact, most of the engineering institutes imparting EE education countrywide focus only on domain knowledge and a mere 25% of the engineering professionals are actually employable. Along with domain knowledge, there are non-technical skills and competencies which play a significant part in contributing to an individual's effective and successful participation in the workplace.
This article throws light on career opportunities that will go a large way towards ensuring successful career planning and handling placement prospects. The paper addresses the career prospects in a broader domain of electronics engineering and other allied fields. The study will also focus on ongoing activities and initiatives at BPSMV State University in Haryana.

Comparison of Requirement Prioritization Techniques to Find Best Prioritization Technique

This paper describes an assessment of different requirement prioritization techniques (binary search tree, AHP, hierarchy AHP, spanning tree matrix, priority group/Numerical Analysis, bubble sort, MoSoW, simple ranking and Planning Game) on the basis of previous literature. Five research papers and thesis are critically reviewed, in order to select best requirement prioritization method. The study of literature shows that AHP is the best requirements prioritization technique amongst all the requirements prioritization techniques. It provides the most efficient and reliable results which are on ratio scale. It is fault- tolerant and provides a consistency check.

Facebook Applications to Promote Academic Engagement: Student’s Attitudes towards the Use of Facebook as a Learning Tool

The aim of this study is to investigate higher-education student’s attitude toward the use of Facebook, as one of the social media tool, to enhance their education. This study was conducted on college students at one of the Jordanian higher educational institution. The number of participants of this study was forty five students who were enrolled in Computer Educational course. This course is either a graduation requirement for all elementary education major students or as an elective course for other student’s non-computer majors. We noticed that each student has created a Facebook Page to use for the class purposes and other page(s) for their own personal needs. The result of the study showed that the Facebook site is a useful tool to deliver course materials and support learning. Students have showed their acceptance of this media to communicate with others and to find course materials and references. Most participants felt motivated and enjoyed going through the course when using the Facebook site.

Ontology-Alignment Techniques: Survey and Analysis

The ontology alignment consists in generating a set of correspondences between entities. These entities can be concepts, properties or instances. The ontology alignment is an important task because it allows the joint consideration of resources described by different ontologies. This paper aims at counting all works of the ontology alignment field and analyzing the approaches according to different techniques (terminological, structural, extensional and semantic). This can clear the way and help researchers to choose the appropriate solution to their issue. They can see the insufficiency, so that they can propose new approaches for stronger alignment. They can also adapt or reuse alignment techniques for specific research issues, such as semantic annotation, maintenance of links between entities, etc.
