ASR for Tajweed Rules: Integrated with Self-Learning Environments

By Ahmed AbdulQader Al-Bakeri Abdullah Ahmad Basuhail

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijieeb.2017.06.01, Pub. Date: 8 Nov. 2017

Due to the recent progress in technology, the traditional learning setting in several fields has been renewed by different environments of learning, most of which involve the use of computers and networking to achieve a type of e-learning. With great interest surrounding the Holy Quran related research, only a few scientific research has been conducted on the rules of Tajweed (intonation) based on automatic speech recognition (ASR). In this research, the use of ASR and MVC design is proposed. This system enhances the learners’ basic knowledge of Tajweed and facilitates self-learning. The learning process that is based on ASR ensures that the students have the proper pronunciation of the verses of the Holy Quran. However, the traditional method requires that both students and teacher meet face-to-face. This requirement is a limitation to enhancing individuals’ learning. The purpose of this research is to use speech recognition techniques to correct students’ recitation automatically, bearing in mind the rules of Tajweed. In the final steps, the system is integrated with self-learning environments which depend on MVC architectures.

Impediments to Requirement Engineering in Distributed Team

By Nabiha Usmani Rabbia Hassan Waqas Mahmood

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijieeb.2017.06.02, Pub. Date: 8 Nov. 2017

Due to the greater availability of skilled software engineers, organizations are increasingly adopting Global Software Development, at relatively lesser costs. Software process in such distributed teams have turned out to be progressively more viable for numerous reasons, due to better communication technologies and maturity level of software industry. However organizations adopting Global Software Development must take into consideration that it is not a risk-free action, as many failures related to it have been reported.
There are a number of challenges when existing tools of globally distributed projects are adopted. Upon deep evaluation of requirement analysis during interactive phase, particular consideration must be given to the requirements of clients and distributed software provider teams which are globally dispersed. In this paper, we present realistic insights gathered from carrying out surveys from IT professionals and people working in the software industry. Moreover, extensive examination of the literature work previously done in this regard is also documented in our paper. The objective of our paper is to get a clear idea about the major factors and challenges faced by the team members of the globally distributed team. After identification of these key factors, based on the results of our survey, we have endeavored to present an analysis on how to overcome these challenges.

A Mobile-based Neuro-fuzzy System for Diagnosing and Treating Cardiovascular Diseases

By Folasade O. Isinkaye Jumoke Soyemi Olayinka P. Oluwafemi

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijieeb.2017.06.03, Pub. Date: 8 Nov. 2017

In our present environment, heart diseases are very rampart and they describe the various types of diseases that affect the heart. They account for the leading cause of death word-wide especially, in Africa. It is therefore very important for individuals to have adequate knowledge about their heart health in order to avoid the risk of decreased life expectancy. The high mortality rate of heart (cardiovascular) diseases is attributed to the unequal ratio of patients to scarcity of medical experts who can provide medical care, also patients are not always warn to waiting long hours on queue in the hospital, especially in cases of emergency. This paper designed and implemented a Mobile Neuro-fuzzy System that uses the combination of the intelligence technique of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) and the human-like reasoning style of Fuzzy Logic to diagnose and suggest possible treatments for cardiovascular diseases through interactivity with user. It employs programs like MySQL, PHP, JAVA (Android) and XML (Android Studio) while tools like XAMPP, PhpStorm and Android O/S were used to integrate these techniques together. The system, proved to be of enormous advantage in diagnosing heart diseases, as it diagnoses and learns about each user per time, to provide adequate and appropriate results and also makes reliable predictions to users.

A Proposal for High Availability of HDFS Architecture based on Threshold Limit and Saturation Limit of the Namenode

By Sabyasachi Chakraborty Kashyap Barua Manjusha Pandey Siddharth Rautaray

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijieeb.2017.06.04, Pub. Date: 8 Nov. 2017

Big Data which is one of the newest technologies in the present field of science and technology has created an enormous drift of technology to a salient data architecture. The next thing that comes right after big data is Hadoop which has motivated the complete Big Data Environment to its jurisdiction and has reinforced the complete storage and analysis of big data. This paper discusses a hierarchical architecture of Hadoop Nodes namely Namenodes and Datanodes for maintaining a High Availability Hadoop Distributed File System. The High Availability Hadoop Distributed File System architecture establishes itself onto the two fundamental model of Hadoop that is Master-Slave Architecture and elimination of single point node failure. The architecture will be of such utilization that there will be an optimum load on the data nodes and moreover there will be no loss of any data in comparison to the size of data.

Role of m-Banking for Indian Rural Consumers, its Adaptation Strategies, and Challenges: Consumer Behavior Analysis

By Shyam Sihare

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijieeb.2017.06.05, Pub. Date: 8 Nov. 2017

An information technology is a part of modern society for completion of their daily schedule with sophisticated accuracy, effectiveness, efficiency and maintaining transparency. However, modern technology penetration into root level in modern Indian society is not in an appreciable in particular of rural India. Among different applications of wireless communication means a significant application is m-banking. Mobile banking mainly concerned the things of a transaction as well as financial services. In this paper, we discuss adaptation strategies and make an analysis of rural consumer behavior about mobile banking. Similarly, we discuss different mobile banking facilities and upcoming facilities which should be utilized by rural Indian people to connect rest of the world with efficiently. With that, we have a study, which factor play significant roles in rural India for deep penetration of mobile banking. As well as, study about his behavior and make an analysis of rural consumers for adaptation of beneficial technology and services to come out from a root and play at tip position in modern society. It is evident in recent time that mobile devices or handheld devices like PDA (Personal Digital Assistance) application are widespread due to its cost, ease of use, efficiency, and effectiveness. But optimum penetration exhibit inhibits by social misconception such as security and not maintain transparency before, during and after transactions.

A Robust Approach for R-Peak Detection

By Amana Yadav Naresh Grover

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijieeb.2017.06.06, Pub. Date: 8 Nov. 2017

Electrocardiogram (ECG) is very crucial and important tool to detect the cardiac problems. For ECG analysis, it is essential to measure ECG parameter accurately. It is very critical in all types of ECG application. The accurate R Peaks detection is starting step in extracting ECG features which is necessary for the other ECG performance stages. It is very essential to detect these R-peaks accurately and efficiently to detect heart diseases or anomalies which create primary source of death in the universe. Hence automatic R-peaks detection in a lengthy duration ECG signal is very meaningful to diagnose the cardiac disorders. Here a latest R-peak exposure algorithm depended on Shannon energy envelope estimator and logic to find peaks has been proposed which uses the simple threshold of Shannon energy.
