The Synthesis of Sparse Antenna Array Based on Improved Mind Evolution Algorithm

By Hongliang Tian

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.05.01, Pub. Date: 29 Nov. 2011

Mind Evolution Algorithm (MEA) imitates the human mind evolution by using similartaxis and dissimilation operations, which overcomes the prematurity and improves searching efficiency. But the generation of the initial population is blind and the addition of naturally washed out temporary subpopulations is random. This paper improved MEA by introducing chaos and difference into it and proposed Chaos Difference Mind Evolution Algorithm (CDMEA), which brought adequate diversity to the initial population and saved the excellent genes in the evolution. Then CDMEA is used in the synthesis of sparse antenna arrays. The excellent results confirmed the effectiveness, flexibility and suitability of CDMEA.

By Cheng Xin Zhou Yunfei

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.05.02, Pub. Date: 29 Nov. 2011

Rapid increases in the complexity of algorithms for real-time signal processing applications have made multi-processors parallel processing technology needed. This paper proposes a design of high-performance real-time bus (RTB), based on which distributed shared memory (DSM) mechanism is established to implement data exchange among multiple processors. Adopting DSM mechanism can reduce the software overhead and improve data processing performance significantly. Definition and implementation details of RTB and data transmission model are discussed. Experimental results show the stable data transmission bandwidth is achieved with performance not affected by the increasing number of processors.

Ontology Mapping of Design Process Knowledge Based on Classification

By Xin Shi Shurong Tong Bo Li

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.05.03, Pub. Date: 29 Nov. 2011

For the requirements of knowledge reuse in product design process, according to the characteristics of the knowledge representation methods, this paper uses ontology knowledge representation method to construct the product design process knowledge model and gives ontology mapping decision strategy which is based on classification. In the basis of choosing "design department" ontology in human resource management as the heterogeneous ontology of "design organization" ontology in product design process management, lists their concepts set and calculates the similarity of matching concept pairs, finally, outputs the mapping relationship table.

A Controlled Sinusoidal Signal Generator Based On Direct Digital Synthesize

By Liu Zhidong Wang Shixu Mao Qun Xu Zilin Yang Kuo Liang Pan

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.05.05, Pub. Date: 29 Nov. 2011

In this paper, a controlled sinusoidal signal generator (CSSG) based on the direct digital synthesize (DDS) chip-AD9851 is introduced. The CSSG is controlled by MSP430F4250, which is an ultralow-power microcontroller. The micro control unit (MCU) receives 4-20mA current provided by a current transmitter and then computes the frequency value of the input signal. A frequency value is converted to frequency words which are sent to AD9851. Through an amplifier, a sinusoidal signal can be obtained. With changing the value of input current, sinusoidal signal with different frequency value can be generated. Experiments indicate that the system can produce the sinusoidal signal with frequency 1MHz to 2MHz and accuracy 1Hz.

By FENG Yi-dong GUI Zhan-ji FANG Yun-duan WANG Xiao-xia

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.05.08, Pub. Date: 29 Nov. 2011

E-learning environment has incomparable advantages compared to traditional education, which could make up for traditional educational means and methods in preparing students multiple intelligence shortcomings, in line with our current educational status quo. The research on e-learning environment design based on the theory of multiple intelligence lies in both students' multiple intelligences, and enhancing network education quality, which has an important practical significance. This paper analyzes the inspiration of multi-intelligence theory as for e-learning environment design based on the multiple intelligences theory, which also proposes learning strategies for environmental design and some problems that we should pay attention to.

Research and Application of Iterative Approach in Computer Language Teaching

By Jiang Guangyuan

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.05.11, Pub. Date: 29 Nov. 2011

Language points are explained to students one by one in traditional teaching, and their varieties make the first learning of a computer language rather difficult. All the language points in computer language courses are successive and interdependent, so any defect or misunderstanding would bring barriers to the subsequent learning. Based on the natural way of language acquisition of human beings and iterative models in software engineering, an iterative approach is put forward in this paper in order to maintain the consecutiveness of the language points and help students in their software research and development.

Fast Intra Mode Decision Algorithm Based on Texture Direction Detection for H.264/AVC

By Jingyan Shang Wenpeng Ding Yunhui Shi Yanfeng Sun

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5815/ijeme.2011.05.12, Pub. Date: 29 Nov. 2011

The latest video coding standard H.264/AVC outperforms previous standards in terms of coding efficiency at cost of higher runtime complexity. When RDO is used, the most time-consuming process in a H.264/AVC encoder is mode decision, where all the intra/inter modes are tested to find the optimal coding mode. In this paper, we present a fast intra mode decision scheme, which first detects the texture direction and only tests a subset of intra modes consistent with detected direction. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme significantly reduces the overall encoding time with negligible coding performance loss.
